Okay. I need to start posting more, even if it is, like a kitten with the runs, all fluff 'n' shite.

Socks. Let's talk about socks.

I'm a contented wearer of those sub-ankle length trainer liner type socks, especially if they have a little tab at the heel to stop the trainer from eating the sock. I prefer them to have a looped terry towelling style interior, which provides padding to the foot, and seems to wick sweat away from the foot pretty well.

Recently I bought two pairs of the cutest wool socks. They're knee length, like little girl socks. One pair is burgundy red, and the other pair is silver grey. They keep my calves lovely and warm in this here cold weather.

Even better than those are my made in Finland grey wool stockings. I need to get an everyday suspender belt (garter belt) to wear them with. Thick stockings need sturdier clasps than the ones you get on evening/bedroom wear lingerie suspender belts. A plain black cotton one with 6 metal clasps would be just the ticket.

I hate socks.

No really, I do. I have a serious neurosis when it comes to what I'll put on my feet. Socks are only to be worn with shoes, and the second the shoes come off, so do the socks, and I don't care how cold my feet get. Jaime suffers the same fate. If he's in the same room as me, the socks have to go. I don't want to see them, I don't want to feel them, i don't want to hear them rub against the carpt (*shudder*), I don't want anything to do with them.

See? I'm insane.

My SO takes his socks off when he's tired. He doesn't take them off neatly, but rather flaps his feet over and over again until the socks work their way off.

I've probably given you the heebs by saying that.

Hurray for socks!!

I love 'em. Can never have too many.... Okay probably can, but with so many different kinds to choose from it's nice to have a good selection.

Some of my favourite socks are: Eeyore socks, rainbow toe socks (though I don't wear them often cos it feels funny), and rag wool socks. Having lived in Wyoming for 5 years I quickly collected warm fuzzy socks.

When it's absolutely freezing, there is nowt better than dressing in a sweatshirt, sweatpants and thick fuzzy socks cuddling up in bed with the dog on your toes, a cuppa tea (or cocoa) and a really good book.

But the fuzzy socks are a must. :O)

Purple fleece trousers and a cup of tea — ah, tis the bliss.

It is very important to have a good selection of socks.

My comfy trousers are royal blue velvety ones.

I've been lucky enough to be able to blame pregnancy for wearing them to work a few times when I couldn't be arsed to fit this mega-bump into anything else.

SOCKS!!

Socks are the bestest of the best! i have a large collection of super stripey socks which are guaranteed to take all the seriousness out of anything i wear them with! also LEGWARMERS - i wear these all the time at home, but rarely wear them in public as i feel too ridiculous. But i still love them.

i've never quite gotten the hang of "proper" stockings but i should do - i love the idea of thick woolly stockings! preferably in bright colours which if you were a Victorian would mark you out as a kerrayzee loose woman!

Black terry trainer-liner socks are my One True Perfect Sock.

Although in the house I always switch to the colourful-but-odd wool slipper-socks that I crocheted for myself.

Love socks. Especially the ones with the toes. Haven't yet figured out if this keeps my feet warmer or colder, but they're neat either way.

I mean, you can wiggle your toes, pick things up, and pretend you're a muppet! What more is there to life?

I want toe socks.

People keep buying me books and alcohol for Crimble and burfdays, I wish they'd buy me socks. Well, socks and alcohol.

Idea: pair of knee socks with a bottle of wine stuffed into each one. Excellent.

I have 3 types of socks.

1-socks for tennis shoes: theses are crew socks that you scrunch down. they are all varying shades of white.

2-socks for boots: long school girl socks. I have all sorts of neutral shades.

3-socks for around the house: these are mostly thermal socks that have the rubber patterny stuff on the bottom so as not to slip on tile floors. I have baby blue, burgundy and used to have black somewhere. also toe socks fall in this category. i have a "rainbow brite" pair but in shades of blues, purples and pinks.

Currently I'm forced to purchase large quantities of cheap socks in order to keep the average price-per-sock value in our household to an acceptable level, since the SO owns pairs which cost, like, FIFTEEN pounds (magical cycling socks with go faster stripes and made of hairs plucked from teh head of the world's oldest albino yak or something) and that is a sign of evil decadent capitalism IMNSHO.

For an every day garter belt: http://www.stockingirl.com/home.html

For socks, tights, etc. of every description: http://www.fetishize-me.com/thigh_highs.html

As a person who maketh not her own body heat, I like taller socks that keep my ankles warm. I'm ridiculously fond of The World's Softest Sock, (http://www.onehanesplace.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce/ExecMacro/product/product.d2w/report?style=731&catname=4081000000&V=A) which is just acrylic but it really IS super soft.

socks!

When asked what I wanted for Xmas this year I told several people socks. I did get some very cool socks. One pair of which I'm wearing now--they're green with a light green (almost white) very narro band right at the top and a snowflake on either side of each ankle. Also, soft and fuzzy. I love them.

Wow. You've gotten more comments about socks than I get in most weeks.

I always like being able to wear just nice warm wooly white socks. Even in the summer, I like my nice medium weight white socks. Jazz concerts in college, I would always wear a dary grey suit and white socks. Wish I could better get away with them at work.

I am all about the wacky, patterned sock. Checks, stripes, paisley, plaid, argyle in bright purples and oranges... rainbow toe socks, cashmere anklets with little pink bows, (what my mom called Mary Jane Socks, as you wore them with your black patent leather Mary Jane Shoes when you went to church.)

You name it, I've got it, if it's wacky. My biggest regret is that while I was at Universal, I was forced to wear plain old boring black socks. I've been rooting them out of my wardrobe slowly but surely.

I am totally addicted to Acorn fleece socks. (http://www.allsportsocks.com/fleecslipsoc.html)* I only have one pair (three, if you count the two that I stole from my mother) but they're wonderfully fuzzy and warm and comfortable. And as someone who has very poor circulation, any socks that keep my feet warm are nothing short of a miracle.

I love those trainer liner things. I'd looked with envy when I'd seen people wearing them (usually girls) until I recently ran across them in Marks & Spencers. Now I have loads. I even listed them under "interests" in my profile. Why don't you add them to yours - We can form a trainer-liner appreciation club?
