Mr Bennett the baker

Mr Bennett the baker has introduced a new product. It is a "sultana crescent" and it is a sweet, buttery, eggy, rich bready product, almost scone-like, formed into a croissant shape. With sultanas in it. I just bought one, still hot.

Bugger me, they're good.

This sounds like a type of cookie that were my dad's favourites at a now defunct bakery back home.

He used to get us up early on Saturday morning to pick up the best fresh bread ever while it was still hot (and while there was still some left) and he'd always walk out with a bag of those cookies as well.

Ooooh, the craving is strong now. I love anything crescent shaped that spits in the eyes of useless, stupid, flaking croissants.
