Transit of Venus (also, parrots)
Jun. 8th, 2004 09:27 amThere's milky cloud here, but the sun is peeping through from time to time.
I have rigged up a little projection device, and LO! for I have SEEN the TRANSIT OF VENUS. There is a small dot, which is Venus, upon the face of the sun.
I took a few pics, but I dunno how well they're going to turn out. With a combination of a reasonably short focal length (because the light wasn't so very bright through the veil of high cloud), and holding a piece of paper in one hand and a digital camera in the other, there may be blurring.
I'll get the pics off the camera and see if they're any good. If they are, well, you may see them.
I also saw the local improbable macaws (see earlier entry), and took pics of those. They were against the light so I couldn't make out the colouring very well. May have to doctor them up.
